The Current State of Biotechnology
We are proud to introduce our newest speaker acquisit. Prof. Dirk Prüfer is a Professor of Plant Biotechnology at the University of Münster and also heads a department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology. His research focuses on the biotechnological use of plants, particularly the development of sustainable raw materials. A key area of his work is the production of natural rubber from Russian dandelion as an eco-friendly alternative to tropical rubber. His work bridges basic research and industrial application and has received multiple awards.
